We do not permit the use of AI-generated images, videos, or voices, as these risk misrepresenting reality and undermining the credibility of our storytelling. We do not permit AI usage for scientific materials as it might affect the data, or the representation of said data.
AI is applied only as a tool to assist, not replace, human creators. We value the expertise, judgment, and oversight of people.
All public materials that involve any use of AI undergo human review, editing, and approval to ensure accuracy. AI usage will be documented so that it can be (fact)checked at any point in time where needed.
The use of AI within BFFP is permitted only as an assistive tool. It may be applied for drafting, outlining, or making minimal edits, but never in ways that alter the context, reality, or credibility of our work. AI output must remain secondary to human creativity, expertise, and oversight at all times.
AI-generated content poses unresolved copyright and ownership issues. Because this legal landscape remains uncertain, we avoid relying on AI outputs where rights and licensing cannot be guaranteed. Instead, we prioritise existing licensed materials to ensure compliance and protection.
Generative AI has a measurable energy, carbon & water footprint, particularly for image & video production. We choose proven, lower-impact alternatives whenever possible to minimize our environmental footprint.
BFFP does not allow the use of AI tools on sensitive, confidential, or private materials. To protect the safety and privacy of our team and movement, no personal data, internal documents, or security-related information may be processed through AI systems whatsoever.
BFFP strives to apply these AI-usage principles within our team and carefully review third-party materials we share. However, we cannot fully guarantee that all external content is free from AI involvement. If any material we publish or share is later found to violate these disclosures, such as misrepresenting reality, compromising credibility, or misusing AI, we will take immediate action to remove it.
