In the middle of the second part of the fifth round of negotiations, countries have made little progress. As a response, civil society groups are demanding countries to be bold at this crucial time.and Several poets volunteered their talents to stress the importance of not letting a few low-ambition countries hold the process back by insisting on consensus.
Countries must be able to make decisions on substantial issues through a majority vote when consensus among all countries cannot be reached, to prevent a handful of low-ambition countries from weakening the treaty.
can you see me?
i have stood up, i have sat down.
i have been bruised, i have been bullied.
i have been weeping, i have been running.
what does any of this even mean
when you keep going in circles
From the forests, the plains, and the seas,
Voices resonate. Wisely, sincerely.
Communities from around the world,
Demand a treaty that protects us.
Let the real culprits be stopped and brought to justice.
Let our voices be heard now.
