Geneva, August 13, 2025 - Today at 2:50 pm, Luis Vayas Valdivieso, Chair of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee meeting for a Plastics Treaty, released a new text for negotiations. The proposal lacks all the key components that civil society groups and high ambition countries have been asking for to effectively address the plastic pollution crisis.
